Target Field Station wins Top Project

Target Field Station has been named one of Finance & Commerce’s Top Projects of 2014. The project is located adjacent to Target Field, home of Minnesota Twins baseball, on the west edge of downtown Minneapolis. The project expands the regional transportation system with transit connections to Target Field and the North Loop area of Minneapolis. The station also provides a year-round public plaza and park with open green space and iconic design elements. The project also includes new underground parking. TKDA provided design for the 1,200 foot-long-bridge which supports a 300-foot-long light rail transit station and 2,000-square-foot station canopy at mid-structure. The multidisciplinary, design-build team included Knutson Construction and architects Perkins Eastman with Peter Cavaluzzi, FAIA.
