TKDA improved pedestrian and traffic safety with new bridge design
Ramsey County needed to replace the aging eastbound Warner Road Bridge with a new bridge and construct two new trail bridges to eliminate the existing at-grade pedestrian crossings at the on and off ramps for Childs Road. Warner Road Bridge spans over nine Class 1 railroad tracks with over 100 trains passing each day.
The new eastbound structure is a seven-span pre-stressed concrete beam bridge supported on deep foundations. To minimize disruption to the railroads, the deep foundations for the piers in the railroad corridor are micropile installed from the existing bridge deck.
