Natural resource markets face constant changes as technology develops, regulations evolve and demand fluctuates. This unpredictability can make facility and operational planning a challenge. TKDA’s Mining Group uses our technical design skills and hands-on industry experience to help our clients make informed decisions that improve operations and the bottom line.
Mining is both an old and new market for TKDA. In 1910, our company founder, Max Toltz, designed the Great Northern Railroad’s Allouez Ore Dock in Superior, Wisconsin. For over a century, TKDA has provided services to the mining industry, primarily through its Rail Division. As mining has grown more technologically sophisticated, TKDA’s multidiscipline engineering skills and operational knowledge have allowed us to expand and tailor our services throughout the mining industry.
Today, TKDA offers both design and operational/asset assessment services to our mining clients. Mechanical, electrical, civil, rail and structural engineers provide design solutions for mining facilities. Our teams also bring hands-on experience in dust-controlled HVAC systems, power distribution upgrades and rail and dock improvements. Additionally, we provide mine plan evaluations, asset assessment, distressed asset consultation, capital justification and investment due diligence. TKDA’s unique operational insight and technical mining expertise inform all of our design solutions and recommendations.
