The completion of an addition to the Science Center in 2012 for the chemistry department allowed the biology department to move and expand into the newly vacated chemistry labs in the adjacent 1961 science center building.
TKDA worked with the college to develop a masterplan to assign areas to accommodate the various biology department needs. The work was broken down into three phases, two of which have been completed, with the 3rd currently under construction is expected to be completed late in 2016. The renovation work completely gutted the rooms and removedall asbestos-containing materials. The new lab casework, tables, ceilings, flooring, lighting and large screen projectors transformed these formerly tired, vintage labs into fresh, inviting learning environments.
