The City of Sioux Falls, South Dakota wanted to eliminate a rail line through downtown and construct a railroad bypass. TKDA performed a feasibility study for the construction of the bypass and provided key services for relocating the downtown rail line.
TKDA provided conceptual, preliminary and final design of the track consolidation project. Final engineering included approximately 15,000 feet of new track, seven new turnouts, paved access roads, a railroad bridge over Pasley Park entrance road and a 288-foot long retaining wall along Southeastern Avenue.
