TKDA provides structural bridge design to extend the Green Line through the southwestern suburbs

To extend the Metro Transit Green Line into the southwestern suburbs of Minneapolis, the 15.8-mile Southwest LRT Project requires a wide range of structural design and engineering services. As a subconsultant to Kimley-Horn and Associates, TKDA is providing many of the essential services to make this long-term expansion a reality.

TKDA’s role in the Southwest LRT Project includes evaluation of existing bridge structures and preliminary structural design for new transit, trail and freight bridges. TKDA will also provide design for tunnels, retaining walls, water resources and stormwater. Through these services along with coordination with Hennepin County Regional Railroad Authority and freight railroads, the Southwest LRT Project will improve the connection between the southwestern suburbs and Minneapolis.
