The Triple Track Project is a partnering effort between Amtrak, BNSF Railway Company (BNSF) and Caltrans to construct 15 miles of new track next to two existing tracks between the cities of Los Angeles and Fullerton, California. TKDA was commissioned by the BNSF to provide construction management and inspection services on Segment 7 of this federally funded project.
Segment 7 extends from the cities of Pico Rivera to Santa Fe Springs and currently carries 100 to 120 freight, commuter and intercity passenger trains per day. Special services included ARRA reporting and compliance documentation. Construction scope included a residential security wall, surface drainage improvements, cut/fill of track subgrade, three at-grade road crossings and utility protection coordination. TKDA also assisted with coordination, inspection and reporting services for track and signal construction activities.
