The Lake Elmo Park Reserve is Washington County’s most popular park and receives about half a million visits a year. In order to maintain the high standard of customer service, limiting construction impacts to the user experience was the main goal of the project. Maintaining a high level of service within the park is being accomplished by various infrastructure upgrades within the 80-site modern campground and along the 3.8-mile Eagle Point Trail. These improvements included upgrades to the modern campground, landscape architecture upgrades, replacement of a playground, demolition and replacement of an existing building, drainage improvements to an existing turf trail, the addition of a trailhead and restroom building, as well as addition of a new gravel parking lot and access.
