TKDA helped improve pedestrian traffic with new urban trail
Three Rivers Park District wanted to improve pedestrian traffic with a new multi-use off-road trail from Minneapolis to Bloomington along the Cedar Avenue corridor. TKDA provided drainage, storm sewer design, hydraulic modeling and permitting for the 3.6-mile urban trail connection.
In addition to a new pedestrian bridge over I-494, the project included 75 catch basins and 1,500 feet of storm sewer and culverts, one infiltration basin and a floodplain assessment. TKDA also assisted with obtaining the MPCA NPDES Construction Storm Water Permit and the Minnehaha Creek Watershed District Permit.
