The East Bush Lake Road and I-494 interchange had provided access to eastbound I-494 since 1960, but it did not connect drivers to westbound I-494. As the Normandale Lake area grew, congestion increased and created the need for improved westbound access. TKDA prepared construction plans and specifications for a new inverted loop bridge design for the westbound I-494 on-ramp and reconstruction of the existing eastbound I-494 on-ramp.
