Larry Poppler Joins TKDA Municipal Team

TKDA announces Larry P. Poppler Jr., PE, has recently joined the firm as their Municipal Engineering Group Manager in Saint Paul. Poppler has more than 21 years of municipal engineering experience in the Twin Cities metropolitan area.

Most recently employed as city engineer for the rapidly growing community of Prior Lake, Minnesota, population 26,000, he has also worked in the private sector as a designer and project manager for a variety of projects within multiple civil engineering disciplines for communities throughout the state.

While overseeing the Prior Lake engineering and building departments, Poppler guided development plans that included more than $32 million in public infrastructure improvements, designed and managed the yearly reconstruction of 1-to-2 miles of city streets and utilities through the statutory special assessment process, and supervised community growth that included a yearly average of 120 new single-family homes. He also worked closely with Scott County and MnDOT transportation officials in planning a significant number of highway improvement projects within the city to address future regional traffic safety and capacity needs.

Poppler received a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Minnesota-Twin Cities.
