TKDA Projects Take Top Honors at Minnesota Council of Airports Conference
Three TKDA projects won top honors at the Annual Minnesota Airports Conference recently in St. Cloud, Minn. The 2014 Project of the Year for Key General Aviation Airport Award went to the Park Rapids Municipal Airport – Konshok Field for its crosswind runway and lighting project, allowing the airport to offer improved year-round operations and land aircraft in nearly all wind and weather conditions. Park Rapids also received the Governor’s Award for Airport of the Year. Southwest Minnesota Regional Airport in Marshall was also awarded the Key General Aviation Airport 2014 Project of the Year for the development of a new terminal area that is now shovel-ready for corporate and commercial expansion. The first-ever Business Development/Non-Aeronautical Award went to Morris Municipal Airport for its new hangar, designed to meet a critical aircraft storage need for a growing area business. TKDA was the aviation consultant on these award-winning projects and Aviation Group Manager John Peterson accepted the honors on behalf of TKDA.
