TKDA fully funds scholarship at UMN

Joe Labuz, Department Head of Civil, Environmental and Geo-Engineering at the University of Minnesota, stopped by TKDA to thank President/CEO Tom Stoneburner and former President/CEO Bill Deitner, for the company’s scholarship donation. TKDA created a permanent scholarship for engineering and architectural students at the UMN in 2010 in recognition of the firm’s 100th year anniversary. With TKDA’s additional donation in 2018, the scholarship was fully funded, ensuring the scholarship will be awarded in perpetuity.

The TKDA scholarship is given annually to junior or senior students studying civil, mechanical, electrical or structural engineering, and every third year, is awarded to a junior or senior architecture student. The scholarship also recognizes Bill who spent all of his nearly 40-year engineering career at TKDA, the last 12 as President and CEO. Both Bill and Tom are UMN civil engineering graduates.
