TKDA transformed a 189,000 SF airport hangar into a modern innovation center that serves as the home base for more than 300 engineers, technicians, and pilots developing the next generation of Cirrus aircraft. Midway Glycol System Relocation
For Southwest Airlines, this project relocated and expanded the glycol deicing facility at the Chicago Midway International Airport, enhancing the airline’s ability to support safe, efficient winter operations. TKDA provided engineering, architectural, permitting, and construction administration services to create a modernized deicing hub that streamlines glycol storage, blending, and distribution while improving operational support for deicing crews. The project also required close coordination with the City of Chicago to secure approvals and keep the facility operationally ready for ongoing airport demands.
