When Canadian National Railway Company (CN) needed to upgrade the Locomotive Fueling Facility in their Stevens Point Yard, they contracted TKDA to provide the necessary general contracting, engineering and technical services.
TKDA’s design scope included rehabilitating the existing fueling platform and providing new steel track pans and industrial waste system, area and task lighting, diesel fuel storage and dispensing, lube oil storage and dispensing, electrical distribution, process controls and diesel fuel monitoring. Operating under short work windows for cutover to new systems, TKDA had to design the existing systems to allow operations to continue during construction. TKDA worked closely with CN on track work and flagging coordination. Temporary distribution for site utilities was provided as necessary. TKDA solicited bids from several contractors and chose Associated Constructors out of Marquette, Michigan to team with for the construction phase of the project.
