As part of its sustainability commitment, Andersen Windows replaced traditional steam generation at its Bayport manufacturing facility with a renewable, low‑carbon system fueled by waste wood from its own operations. TKDA designed a 15,000 SF steam generation facility capable of producing up to 120,000 lb/hr of steam, featuring new wood‑fired boilers integrated with a Warm Water Recovery System to maximize efficiency and a multifuel backup boiler to ensure reliability.
The award‑winning facility delivers a sustainable, cost‑effective steam supply that reduces fossil fuel dependence, advances Andersen’s environmental goals, and showcases leadership in renewable energy integration within manufacturing.
