With a growing population, the City of Victoria needed a new solution to meet its potable water needs. The City selected the TKDA-Barr team to provide the engineering and design services for a new ground storage reservoir to serve 9,000-plus residents.
The project began with developing a preliminary design report that identified the location and required capacity of the new reservoir. The selected site was a city lot of approximately 1.5 acres located along Fieldstone Drive in the growing southwest corner of the City. The project included a 0.75M gallon ground storage reservoir and associated valve vault. The reservoir is covered with two feet of revegetated soil to leave a very unobtrusive grassy knoll with gentle 3-to-1 slopes extending outward.
