When BNSF Railway needed to expand the Glasgow Subdivision with a second track, the company selected TKDA to provide design and construction management services for the large-scale rail improvement spanning North Dakota and Montana. TKDA designed approximately 70 miles of new track, along with universal crossovers, setout track, access roads, signal and turnout pads, and public and private road crossings. The project also incorporated culverts, inter-track drains, ditches, and bridge structures needed to support the expanded corridor.
