Bud Mickelson named TKDA Mining Market Manager

Brian “Bud” Mickelson, PE, has been promoted to Mining Market Manager at TKDA. He replaces Jeff Lipovetz, who is now vice president of TKDA’s Facilities Engineering Division.

Bud, who works in TKDA’s Duluth office, has 12 years of experience in the design and management of industrial, rail, and government projects in Minnesota, with a focus on electrical power, lighting, signal, control, and instrumentation systems. Many of these projects have involved infrastructure upgrades for mining process additions, including the construction, start-up, and commissioning of their associated operating and electrical systems.

A native of Cherry, Minnesota, Bud holds a Bachelor of Science in electrical engineering from the University of North Dakota and is pursuing a Master of Science in engineering management from the University of Minnesota-Duluth.

“Bud has a deep understanding of the mining industry and he works extremely well with our clients,” said Lipovetz. “He understands their needs, their processes, and he delivers exceptional client service. We are happy to have him step up and lead our growing mining team at TKDA.”
