TKDA architects remember Cesar Pelli’s inspiration and friendship

TKDA architects Ken Johnson and Brian Morse worked with Cesar Pelli on the Weber Music Hall on the University of Minnesota-Duluth campus. The world-renowned architect, who designed the Central Library, Gaviidae Common and the Wells Fargo Center in downtown Minneapolis, died recently at the age of 92. “I feel I am a better architect for having worked so closely on one of Cesar Pelli’s designs,” said Brian Morse, AIA, who was the project architect for the stunning music hall with its gem-like design and high, copper-clad dome that produces exceptional acoustics and changed the landscape of the UMD campus. The local ABC affiliate in Duluth interviewed Ken and Brian about their experience working with Pelli who will be remembered for his innovative design and for his lasting friendship.
