As part of a State Aid project approximately one mile of Ugstad Road needed to be reconditioned. TKDA provided preliminary design, final design, special provisions, construction cost estimates and construction services to complete the reconditioning project.
The project involved reclaiming the existing bituminous surface, adding material to elevate the roadbed and using a biaxial geogrid over the reclaimed bituminous to compensate for the poor sub-soils. TKDA provided survey services including topographic survey, construction staking as well as the preservation and remonumentation of section corners after roadway construction. Working in conformance with State Aid standards TKDA provided construction administration and observation. Prior to project construction, TKDA prepared a public involvement plan and led the public involvement process during construction.
