Consisting of a single 6,000-foot runway, the Ray S. Miller Army Airfield at Camp Ripley in Minnesota required major improvements in order to meet modern air traffic needs. TKDA prepared plans for upgrading the airport and implemented several airfield improvements as recommended by the US Army Corps of Engineers.
TKDA upgraded the taxiways by replacing 30,000 SY of asphalt paving with concrete paving. The project also called for slurry coating and crack sealing of the runway and approximately 29,000 SY of airport aprons. Additional improvements included adding helicopter tie-down hooks, airfield guidance signs, airfield runway and taxiway lights, new runway and taxiway markings and a new rotating airport beacon.
