Minneapolis-Saint Paul International Airport (MSP) uses a network of communication fiber to provide the necessary “communication highway” between some 55 buildings within the 3,400-acre airport. As part of an ongoing fiber infrastructure expansion and maintenance plan, TKDA works with MSP to ensure smooth operation.
TKDA provides accurate and timely documentation of the fiber network and maintains an updated Airport Fiber Optic Cable Location Plan and a Diagrammatic Blown Fiber Plan. These plans document the location and catalog the communication manholes, communication handholes and communication cabinets located throughout the airport. Capital improvements are projected out several years in advance to identify the highest priority needs. Annual expenditures on fiber infrastructure are then determined based on those projections and budgets established.
