The International Bazaar at the Minnesota State Fair invites Fair visitors to experience crafts, food and entertainment that have origins from around the globe. TKDA provided key architectural and engineering services to make this project become a staple of the immensely popular fair.
The space features a monumental gateway entrance inviting people into a brightly colored tensile structure soaring over seating for the stage, providing much needed shade during hot summer days. Vendor booths within and surrounding the space provide a festive atmosphere with flexibility to easily accommodate large crowds. This 60,000 SF open-air marketplace includes a 2,100 SF concessions building, a 3,300 SF performance stage and a 4,300 SF restroom structure. Electrical, gas, water and sewer service are available for vendor connections.
