The City of East Bethel needed a new wastewater system to replace individual on-site septic systems used by residents throughout the area. TKDA designed the wastewater interceptor, storage and pumping station for the 10 acre utility site development approximately 28 miles north of Minneapolis.
TKDA designed a new 24-foot diameter collection system where wastewater enters the plant. Inflow is lifted to the preliminary treatment facility via a 43-foot deep pumping station. The pumping station contains a 7,300-gallon wet well with provisions to accommodate 3 effluent pumps. TKDA designed the facility to grow with the area accommodating influent pumps as part of the initial construction. Each pump has a capacity of 0.144 MGD and operates at a total dynamic head of 45 feet.
