The fueling facility at BNSF Railway Company’s Clovis, New Mexico Yard required major improvements to replace the outdated existing structures. TKDA provided design engineering and construction management services for this project that included the installation of two 800,000-gallon diesel fuel oil (DFO) storage tanks, a 20,000-gallon lube oil storage tank, concrete contained tank farm, pump house, DFO tank car top unload rack and DFO truck load/unload facility.
The new pump house was a pre-engineered metal building design utilizing electric heaters and basic ventilation for housing of the pumps and filters dispensing DFO to both the mainline and service platforms. The building was designed for future expansion, included a heated and air conditioned electrical room for the motor control center, control panels, etc. An office and unisex restroom with heating, ventilating and air conditioning systems were also included in the pump house building.
