Located approximately 28 miles of north Downtown Minneapolis, the East Bethel Water Reclamation Plant is currently Minnesota’s largest water reclamation plant (WRP). TKDA provided the design of a new utility campus for a facility expandable to 400,000 GPD facility on a 10-acre site in the City of East Bethel.
Effluent produced by the plant is suitable for direct groundwater recharge through discharge to an underground drain field. The system replaced individual on-site septic systems previously used by residents in the area. TKDA designed the WRP for future expansion to accommodate area growth. The plant’s initial capacity of 25,000 GPD can be scaled up to 400,000 GPD as needed.
