DJ Heinle, AIA, to Lead TKDA’s Architecture Division

DJ Heinle, AIA, has been named Vice President of TKDA’s Architecture Division.

Heinle has more than 16 years of experience in design and project management and has managed both the education and government architectural markets for TKDA. His design portfolio features large public and private projects throughout Minnesota and Wisconsin, including K-12 and university projects, government renovation and energy assessments, corporate office buildings, athletic facilities, and civic and industrial facilities.

A graduate of North Dakota State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Architecture and Environmental Design, Heinle is licensed in Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, South Carolina, and Tennessee. He is a member and serves as the co-chair of the Architect Licensing Advisory Committee for the Minnesota Chapter of the American Institute of Architects. He is also certified by the National Council of Architectural Registration Boards and is a member of the Society of College and University Planning. Active in his community, Heinle is also a member of the Minneapolis Charter Commission and the North Loop Board.

“DJ’s experience as a market leader and his dedication to high-performance design make him the perfect fit to lead our Architecture Division,” said William Deitner, President and CEO of TKDA. “He is well respected by his colleagues and his clients, and he has the vision to strengthen and grow our architectural practice.”

Heinle takes over the position from Dean Johnson, AIA, who will continue to serve TKDA as a client service manager.

“I am very humbled and honored to take on the role of Vice President of Architecture at TKDA,” Heinle said. “I am excited to carry on our tradition of excellent service to our existing clients and look forward to collaborating with new clients and new staff in the future.”
