The Weber Music Hall brought a world-class performance space to the University of Minnesota-Duluth and to northern Minnesota. This $9.2 million stunning facility with its high, copper-clad dome changed the landscape of the UMD campus and raised the bar of exceptional design throughout the region. This 21,600-GSF hall seats 350 and up to 70 orchestra and 75 chorus members can be accommodated on stage. Room acoustics were the driving force for the design and the hall’s exterior dome provides a high-capped ceiling, creating volume of a much larger hall. Sound from the stage rises and blends in the rafter area, coming down to the audience as wonderfully-rich resonance. This project was completed in collaboration with world-renowned Design Architect Cesar Pelli.
