The original facility was completed in 1999 and houses the police and fire departments for this growing city. Set back from the road on a wooded site, the complex was designed with broken massing and sloped roofs to complement the city’s rural, residential character. In 2006 TKDA began design development on a new City Hall addition to the Public Safety Building. The City Hall houses all of the administrative offices including the mayor’s office, city clerk, city administrator, bookkeeping, records, building inspector, city planner, finance and environmental offices. The building’s design incorporates an open feeling, with exposed structural laminated timber beams on the ceiling, and a brick exterior to reflect the historical Jackson homes in the area.
