Flint Hills Administrative Building

TKDA designed and prepared construction documents for a 91,000 SF administrative office building at the Flint Hills Resources Refinery in Rosemount, Minnesota. This 3-story building provides offices for some 225 persons. As visitors enter the building their focus is immediately taken to the monumental stair at the center. This feature serves both as a focal point and as the main vertical circulation spine in the building. The gently sloping site allows for a pedestrian entrance, truck dock and view glazing on the back side of the lower level. The building includes 18 conference rooms and 11 kitchenettes. The Main floor includes the glazed main entrance and reception desk. The upper level includes a multipurpose room with room dividers permitting reconfiguration to 3 separate meeting rooms.
